WHAT IS PUNK ROCK MUSIC CLUB?
WHAT/WHEN: The Punk Rock Movie Club (PRMC) will gather (usually) the first Sunday of every month at 2pm to watch documentaries, concert films, and Punk fiction films together. We’ll also invite film makers, musicians and artists to talk about the films and make the events special.
HOW: First rule of Punk Rock Movie Club is to TELL EVERYONE ABOUT PMRC. Support community building and support the Community Theater. Sign up for the email list so you don’t live and die by the whims of the socials.
WHY: PRMC is a once-a-month pick-up gang of projectionists, insomniacs, ex-drummers, librarians, dog walkers, sound-check fugitives, people between jobs, people between ideas, and people who just followed the breadcrumbs we’ve been dribbling through the back alleys of Catskill Village to Hansel & Gretel your ass to 373 Main St.
At the holy hour of 2PM on first Sundays the lights go down and the Community Theater becomes a secret clubhouse. Films are screened. Secret handshakes are exchanged. A vortex opens where nothing is scaled. Nothing is monetized.
Some PRMC films are lifers—they arrived early to the party and never left your subconscious. Others are a materializing mirage of an oasis on the horizon. These films run on dissent, broken systems, and glimpses of better ones. They imagine new worlds while stomping the wreckage of the old.
Punk doesn’t care what this is called. It stays busy. Instructions are ignored. Results may vary. But in the half light of the Community Theater, our brains flicker—a fugue state of collective mental calisthenics, exacting minute recalibrations to our “I don’t care” and “I care” muscles, till they’re back in fighting shape for whatever 2026 throws at us.
And so it is our highest and holiest privilege to politely insist that you join this group of non-joiners and make Punk Rock Movie Club the most successful punk rock movie club in Catskill, NY. Resistance is futile...succumb to a PRMC theater dust baptism. You'll never optimize again—and you shall be one of us, one of us, one of us.
